Traditionally, Ikarus Day, which commemorates the glorious past of the Ikarus factory, has been held in the Garden City for 14 years now. This is when the old workers gather, nostalgia buses arrive from all over the country, and lovers of vintage vehicles will also come. So far, the Ikarus sports complex has hosted the event, where a year ago we got to know the new Chinese owners of Ikarus, who bought the site of the factory at auction and later also the house of culture. Then Zhan Xiaorong promised that they would arrange for the establishment of an Ikarus Museum. Who would have thought that this promise would be fulfilled within a year, in fact : the nostalgic event was already hosted on September 12 by the beautifully renovated Ikarus House of Culture.
